The Event
We have something very special for our May ALC. Jason Chan, Managing Director of Bankwest, has led the bank's transition to a fully digital bank (no branches).
Bankwest was an early Agile pioneer. However, when Jason joined in February 2022, the ways of working had deteriorated, resulting in limited executive visibility over progress and no clear way to connect work to strategy.
Jason realised the bank was not ready for the transformative agenda Bankwest sought. Undaunted by the challenge, Jason and his team rebuilt the ways of working and operating model, laying new foundations for success. They then launched an ambitious digital programme that spanned more than 7,500 people, 230+ hours of co-designing with customers, and 45+ weeks of testing, with a clear focus on helping Bankwest customers feel more in control of their finances.
The result? Uncomplicated, frictionless digital banking - all built by Bankwest.
Jason will share his fascinating journey of leading Bankwest to become a fully digital bank, on time and under budget. Jason's story is packed with valuable lessons for organisations looking to unlock value and deliver significant change:
- Building a compelling case for change
- Managing dual cultures of both start-up mindset and legacy
- Tailoring pragmatic designs and ways of working for the business unit
- Delivering change at pace
This will be a "direct from the coalface" session led by an executive who is driving significant change and will include plenty of opportunities for discussion.
Target audience
The ALC is a safe and supportive space for leaders to support each other with the challenges they face in modernising their businesses. It is designed for business leaders - Heads Of, General Managers and Executives. It is not for agile practitioners, consultants, contractors, service providers or salespeople.
