We take a teach-by-doing approach.

Our
Courses

To enable change, leaders help others develop new ways of thinking that lead to new ways of being.

We offer a range of workshops and training courses that will help you think differently; providing core understanding of concepts and knowing when and how to apply them.

Our courses are interactive and provide activity-based learning, to ensure an authentic and motivated learning environment.

Training can be delivered specifically to you on-site. Alternatively, public courses are also available on a per seat basis.

The Agile Mindset

Look beyond frameworks and processes to develop an agile mindset that can be applied beyond software, to any situation.

There’s confusion about what agile is and isn’t – one common misconception is that agile is a framework and not a process or way of thinking. This can lead to organisations ‘doing agile’ – following the framework but failing to get the benefits. Agile is a way of thinking and operating; to get the true benefits of agile it’s important to start with understanding the mindset.

This workshop is designed to help attendees understand what an agile mindset is and how to build one. This non-technical course focuses on agile for any situation, not just software, and explores the underlying values, principles and practices of agile. It balances a solid appreciation of agile thinking, while providing practical outcomes that can immediately be put to use based on real world experience.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, students will understand:

  • The Agile mindset values and principles
  • Where agile does and doesn’t apply
  • Value-driven development
  • Kanban and Scrum
  • Customer engagement
  • Design Thinking
  • Adaptive planning
  • Building successful teams

CERTIFICATION

The course is accredited under the ICAgile curriculum and participants who actively attend the full course obtain the ICAgile ICP certification.

Organisational Agility for Executives

Changes accelerated by digital technologies and the globalisation of markets have come at a breakneck pace in the past decade, forcing businesses to adapt or be swept aside. ‘Disruptor’ companies have rewritten the rules in major industries and are transforming customer experience.

It’s not surprising, then, that agility has become a commonly cited business imperative in recent years. But as the focus on agility — which began with specifically defined processes for driving incremental software development — has spread to other sectors, the term has become more ambiguous. These days it often is used as a synonym for more general attributes like speed or adaptability.

In this workshop you will:

  • Understand the strategic potential of agile
  • Understand the core agile principles and how they apply to a range of organisational functions
  • Build awareness of where agile should and shouldn’t be applied
  • Appreciate the type of leadership and management that works best with agile
  • Explore how agile might work in your organisation
DURATION

Half day

Agile Product Ownership

Agile ways of working can increase the speed of delivery, but if we don’t understand value then we simply get to the wrong place, faster.

This course focuses squarely on managing value. Attendees learn how to define value in their specific business context, how to adapt changes in how the market views value and how to test value assumptions. We apply a range of modern tools and techniques to teach the key principles and provide attendees with tangible takeaways that can be applied in the workplace.

OBJECTIVES

Using a variety of techniques and tools, you will be able to understand and apply them to four key areas:

  1. Value – Defining what value is, the different value types and which is applicable to your business.
  2. Product Management/Ownership – We will discuss the roles and responsibilities of those tasked with the direction of products and product features as well as outlining the way these decision makers elicit the best out of the teams they’re working with and the behaviours and characteristics expected of them.
  3. Strategic Value Alignment – Ensuring that the work you do is closely aligned with your company’s strategic goals and objectives as well as clearly mapping you product goals and objectives out.
  4. Value Management – Breaking down Value Management into a distinct set of planning stages, starting with the company level and drilling down to the daily, team level. Giving modern, practical, tools, canvases and techniques that will allow the attendees to immediately take value from the course.
